Basic Shotgun Shooting Course Shotgun shooting is, quite possibly, the most basic forms of marksmanship. Our nation’s early pioneers and settlers relied on the shotgun to keep meat on the table and provide a measure of security in the home. Today, people pursue the sport of shotgun shooting for a variety of reasons. Some aspire to excel on the clay target range. Others enjoy the special thrill and challenge of stalking game in the field. Whatever your motivation happens to be, this program is designed to provide you with the basic information you’ll need to make your introduction to the exciting world of shotgun shooting as safe and gratifying as possible. Shotgun shooting is, above all, fun. You can, however, only experience the true enjoyment of shooting accurately and safely if you’re in full command of the fundamentals of shotgun shooting. In this program, we will take you through all the details inherent in successful shotguning. We will show you how your shotgun functions, how to go about selecting one that’s right for you, how to care for it and most important of all ---how to use it safely. We will acquaint you with the simple, but necessary shooting fundamentals. The course is 3 hours in length. All ammunition for the course is provided. We encourage you to bring your own shotgun so you can learn about it. However, if you have not purchased a shotgun yet or are uncertain as to what kind of shotgun to buy, this course is for you. We use a wide range of shotgun types, including single action, double barrel, pump action and semi-automatic in the class for everyone to learn about and fire. Course Content:
